Sales wants the West region only. Finance wants revenue with no regional breakdown at all. Somehow I've ended up maintaining five near-identical dashboards for five different requests.
What you'll have at the end
One dashboard that serves every audience through a saved default, a shape swap, or an enforced access rule, whichever actually fits them, with the old duplicate copies retired.
You need
Two or more duplicate dashboards, built off the same underlying data, that exist only because different audiences wanted different slices or shapes of the same numbers.
Not covered
Building the underlying data model those numbers come from, or deciding who can edit the dashboard versus only view it.
Which dashboards can finally be retired?
If you already have a pile of near-identical dashboards and can't tell which one is authoritative, sort that out first; this recipe assumes you already know which duplicate is the real one to build the shared dashboard from.
Trim a dashboard to the KPIs a manager checks
If the shared dashboard itself is cluttered with tiles nobody checks, trim it before filtering it for different audiences, or every audience just gets their own copy of the clutter.
